Imagine a situation where God gives you himself.
A situation where God is the end goal, not what he can give you, not his glory, but him.
Today’s blogpost seeks to urge everyone to examine the motive of their pursuit for God. A lot of Christians have unfortunately fallen down the rabbit hole of following God solely for the things and life he promises them.
The pitfall of such kind of pursuit of God is that when their dreams, expectation or hopes are not realized, they fall away and abandon the faith.
Today, God wants us to know he is not interested in the vain and selfish pursuits of him for what he can offer us.
God is not pleased or glorified when a Christian seeks him not for a relationship, but for a business transaction where he gives you blessings in exchange for your time and service.
God has always been on the lookout for true witnesses and worshippers. He wants people who will seek him with all their heart, mind and might.
People who find pleasure in pleasing God, doing his will and working as unprofitable servants. This is the kind of service which is acceptable to God. This is the kind of heart posture that draws God and raises a sweet fragrance to him.
A child of God who truly loves God and makes ‘Him’ the end goal and not what he can offer us is the one who truly touches the heart of God.
Such a Christian is the one who scripture testifies that ‘eyes have not seen, nor ears heard, what God has in store for those that love him and are the called according to his purpose.’
We must get to the point where only God can satisfy us, a point where we are content with having a nonprofitable relationship with God.
A point where knowing, following, serving and loving God become our reward and a fitting price for our sojourn on earth with God.
Only then can we truly birth God’s glory and live acceptably unto God.
May the Lord grant us grace to cast aside the things that easily beset us, lusts of the world and wholeheartedly chase after God for who he is and not what he can give in Jesus name, Amen.
Yet to give your life to Christ? Say this prayer and mean it from the depth of your heart.
“Lord Jesus, I repent of my sins and confess all my evil. I am sorry for all my sins and I pray that you cleanse me by your blood and give me a new beginning.”
“I accept you as my Lord and Savior, and I pray that the power of sin is broken over my life in Jesus name. Amen.”
Did you say that prayer? Congratulations! Heaven rejoices.
