Can you trust God at the face of death?
This is a question every Christian must answer — a question that tests the strength of our faith in God.
It is important to know that in our sojourn here on earth and with God, we are bound to encounter situations that will make us question the love of God upon our lives.
Just like Lazarus, who died while waiting for Jesus to come to him, there are situations we face that we are certain the presence of Jesus would alleviate, only for us to hold on to that faith and watch the situation deteriorate to the point of death.
As Christians, we are bound to face challenges, pain, and ugly situations, and even then we are assured it is for a time, which makes us hold on to the hope that at the appointed time, we shall look back at the experience and have cause to give glory to God.
However, when the case is reversed and we come out of the situation scarred, hurt, and seemingly defeated, will we trust God?
Would we still trust that all things, including the good, bad, and ugly, work together for our good? Could we still trust God after the death of a loved one, dream, or hope?
Could we still trust Him at the face of death?
Only when we answer this question can we truly assess our faith, trust, and love for God. Jesus said that to him who believes is the arm of God revealed.
A quick study of the story of Lazarus’ death and resurrection shows us how glory can be birthed even after death. It took Martha and Mary believing God, even at the face of their brother’s four-days-old dead body, for the miracle to happen.
Dear child of God, what if your miracle is waiting for your trust and faith in God? What if God is waiting on the other side of your unstaggering faith in Him regardless of the situation?
Again, God is asking, as well as requesting: can you trust Him at the face of death?
May God grant us grace to exhibit Bible faith and extraordinary trust in Him regardless of the situation, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Yet to give your life to Christ? Say this prayer and mean it from the depth of your heart.
“Lord Jesus, I repent of my sins and confess all my evil. I am sorry for all my sins and I pray that you cleanse me by your blood and give me a new beginning.”
“I accept you as my Lord and Savior, and I pray that the power of sin is broken over my life in Jesus name. Amen.”
Did you say that prayer? Congratulations! Heaven rejoices.
