On today’s blog post, we shall learn the ways God convicts us of His disapproval.
True children of God should always strive to please God and be led by Him.
Here are a few ways God leads us away from something He does not approve of:
1. A CONSTRAINT IN YOUR SPIRIT.
Any Christian who is filled with the Spirit of God will feel a nudge from God’s Spirit when they venture away from His path.
This is usually His first line of defence against a Christian leaving the terrains He has approved of and venturing into unholy territories.
This could show up as a constant constraint in such Christian’s spirit that pricks their heart and hinders them from proceeding further.
2. GOD’S SPIRIT WILL BEAR WITNESS AGAINST IT:
Another way you can tell when God does not approve of a certain decision or action is when God’s Spirit in us bears witness against it.
This might look like one’s thoughts, conscience, and being strongly kicking against such action.
In such a case, every spiritual sensor will speak against such action, establishing the fact that such a Christian would grieve God if they proceeded further down that path.
3. YOU WILL FEEL EMPTY AND VOID:
This sign will take place after such a Christian has proceeded to carry out the action, thereby going against God’s will.
Once the deal is done, the Holy Spirit retreats and lets you feel the gravity of what you have done by leaving you with that void, emptiness, and hollow feeling in your spirit.
This is and should be every true Christian’s worst nightmare.
4. REGRET:
This goes without saying. It is the final stage, or the full circle moment after such a child of God has defied God’s Spirit and does something against God’s will.
The end of any Christian who chooses to ignore or disregard God’s express direction is always regret.
This is because any time we choose to disobey God, we set ourselves up for pain at the latter end of that decision.
May God grant us grace to obey Him, place His opinions above our own, and go on to live a life that honours Him in Jesus’ name.
Yet to give your life to Christ? Say this prayer and mean it from the depth of your heart:
“Lord Jesus, I repent of my sins and confess all my evil. I am sorry for all my sins, and I pray that you cleanse me by your blood and give me a new beginning.”
“I accept you as my Lord and Saviour, and I pray that the power of sin is broken over my life in Jesus’ name. Amen.”
Did you say that prayer? Congratulations! Heaven rejoices.
