In today’s blog post, the Lord wants to warn us of the plots of the enemy by showing us the ways he operates.
This message is God’s way of showing love and responsibility towards us as a Father.
Below are some of the ways the Devil tempts unsuspecting believers into losing their faith and favour with God, and missing out on the glory ahead.
1. WANTS AND NEEDS:
The voice of wants and needs is one of the strongest ways the Devil captivates unsuspecting Christians. Just like our Lord Jesus, who was tempted at a time He was fresh from a 40 days and nights fast and hungry, the Devil will show up at our weakest moments and with our foremost needs.
In Jesus’ case, the Devil made use of bread, but in our case, it might be money, security, or even love. The Devil will always come around to offer you a counterfeit version of the things you need the most in order to buy your freedom.
Do not give in. Be like Jesus and rebuke him with the Word of God.
2. WEAKNESS:
Another way the Devil tempts unsuspecting believers is through our weaknesses. The Devil will patiently study an unsuspecting Christian to figure out their weak spots before striking an attack.
If a person is prone to anger, lying, or offense, best believe that the enemy will orchestrate a situation to force that person to sin against God.
This is why we must be vigilant and alert so that when the Devil comes around, he will find nothing in us.
We should strive to be like Jesus in order not to fall prey to any weakness and be perfect like Him.
3. ENTICEMENT / VAIN GLORY:
Another way the Devil will try to tempt a believer is through enticement. The Devil will present glamorous gifts and a seemingly glorious future in exchange for your soul.
Just like our Lord Jesus, we must never lose sight of our identity, withstand the Devil, and force him to flee from us.
May the Lord God help us to overcome every temptation in Jesus’ name.
Yet to give your life to Christ? Say this prayer and mean it from the depth of your heart:
“Lord Jesus, I repent of my sins and confess all my evil. I am sorry for all my sins, and I pray that You cleanse me by Your blood and give me a new beginning.”
“I accept You as my Lord and Savior, and I pray that the power of sin is broken over my life in Jesus’ name. Amen.”
Did you say that prayer? Congratulations! Heaven rejoices.
