The enemy doesn’t destroy the believer in one day. It starts with small compromises. The story of Samson is proof.

In today’s blog post, God wants to warn us of the Devil’s strategy to put down a careless and unsuspecting child of God.

We shall be examining the story of Samson, who was born with purpose and a great destiny to liberate people from bondage.

We see how God brought Samson as an answered prayer to his people. A Nazarite with unrivalled strength and a destiny/gift that was the first and last of its kind till date.

Samson was the chosen one, given the secret of his continued strength and dominion in the form of an express commandment from God.

It was revealed to him that no razor was to come in contact with his hair as it was his source of strength.

Samson grew and became a terror to the enemies of his people. His exploits and vicious strength increased to the point he was able to face off with a lion and win.

This continued until his enemies started making findings, seeking ways to destroy this great man of valour.

When everything failed, they decided to employ the services of a strange woman to find the source of his strength.

As a result of his carelessness, Samson fell prey to the hands of his enemies, giving up the secret of his destiny at the lap of the enemy.

The downfall of Samson didn’t start when he was finally captured, but when he allowed a strange woman/person around him.

The Bible describes Delilah as a woman from the heathen, the tribe of people who the Lord forbade them from associating with.

Samson was careless about the places he visited and the people he allowed around him. When he allowed Delilah to come close to him, it marked the beginning of his downfall and eventual demise.

This brings the question: who are the people you have carelessly allowed around you? Who are the ones you have carelessly told the secret to your becoming? Who are the people you have allowed to touch your hair?

This topic is an admonition and a call to sober reflection. A lot of destinies have been killed on arrival as a result of the inability to properly guard your space and pick your friends.

A lot have been stopped and rendered useless to God’s program because they have foolishly tattled the secret to their destiny.

Today, God is warning us out of His love for us. It is not His will that any Christian should live a defeated life here on earth.

God wants us to learn from Samson: to protect our consecration to Him, and rigorously examine and guard our words and the people around us.

God wants us to achieve our God-given purpose, which is why He has brought this message as a warning.

I pray that we shall never fall prey to the Devil’s ploy to destroy our consecration and source of strength in Jesus’ name.

May God grant us grace to be overcomers and come out victorious and unburned from the ploys of darkness in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Yet to give your life to Jesus Christ? Say this prayer and mean it from the depth of your heart:

“Almighty God, I come before You in the name of Jesus. Lord, I confess that I am a sinner and ask for Your mercy.”

“I pray that you cancel my name from the book of death and write my name in the book of life. Give me power to sin no more and grace to live a Christian life.”

“I decree that the yoke of sin is broken over my life, and I accept Jesus into my life as Lord and Savior.”

“I am a child of God.”
