There are a few reasons why it might seem like you can no longer hear or feel the presence of God’s spirit in your life.

As a child of God, it is very dangerous to go about life and destiny without the express assurance of God’s spirit, leading you through life and destiny.

On today’s episode, God is bringing answers, perspective and clarity on the reason behind His spirit being distant in the life of a believer who used to enjoy the presence and guidance of God’s spirit.

1. STRIFE:
One of the leading causes of the Holy Spirit suddenly going silent in the life of a child of God is strife.

This means when a child of God is always at odds with God’s leading. For example, if the Holy Spirit is leading you out of a friendship, job opportunity, or even an ideology and you keep fighting, debating and refusing His impartation and leadership, He walks away.

The Holy Spirit is a friend and helper given to us by God to direct our ways. However, He is also a gentle spirit, and when He is being fought on every decision and turn, He bows out of the fight and lets such a Christian exercise their will without constraints.

Which eventually leads to a bad end/turn in the life of a believer.

2. DISOBEDIENCE:
Another reason the Spirit of God can go silent is disobedience. When a child of God disobeys the Holy Spirit’s express command or leading intentionally and repeatedly without repentance, God’s spirit can go silent.

The Holy Spirit will not remain in a place with a person who constantly disobeys God’s directives. Just like Adam and Eve, there is a price to pay for disobedience and sin, and most times, that price is the loss of God’s spirit.

3. ANGER OF GOD:
When a child of God has provoked God to anger with sin or gross wickedness, the Spirit of God will become silent as God cannot dwell or speak with an unrighteous man or people.

We can take our example from the Children of Israel who sinned against God countless times and incurred the anger of God, who sold them to be slaves and captives at the hands of their enemies until they repented and turned away from evil.

4. HE LEFT. (DEPARTURE/LOSS OF THE SPIRIT)
The final reason the Spirit of God can suddenly go silent is because He left. Sometimes, when we stop hearing and feeling the presence of the Holy Spirit, it’s as simple as that.

He left.

God is long-suffering, merciful and kind. However, in extreme cases of sin, God’s spirit can depart and the grace of God shall be withdrawn.

This is a terrible place to be as a Christian because when you don’t have the presence of God, you become susceptible to defeat, pain, sorrow and death.

I pray that God gives us grace not to grieve His spirit and to always live a life that He approves in Jesus’ name.

“Almighty God, I come before you in the name of Jesus. Lord, I confess that I am a sinner and ask for your mercy.”

“I pray that you cancel my name from the book of death, and write my name in the book of life. Give me power to sin no more and grace to live a Christian life.”

“I decree that the yoke of sin is broken over my life, and I accept Jesus into my life as Lord and Savior.”

“I am a child of God.”
