The blessings you have are someone’s prayer request.

It is very easy to look at the blessings of others and covet such blessings.

Humans are quick to count the things they lack, forgetting what they do have.

Just like the wicked servant who buried his gift because he was given a single talent, thus despising it.

The story of Esau is a clear example of what happens when you despise the gifts and blessings of God. (Hebrews 12:16)

For some of us, we are as outlandish as the wicked servant, who kept looking at the talents of others, convincing himself that God was not rich towards him and burying/despising the gift God has given him.

Forgetting that one can beget a thousand and no one knows the ways of God. As a result of his foolishness and sin, he ended up losing out on the purpose of God completely, just like Esau.

When you fail to do the necessary work to preserve and grow the gift God has given you, be it a home, family, business, or ministry, you stand the risk of losing it.

Today, God is asking you, what have you done with the gift He has given you?

Dear man of God, what have you done with the platform He has given you?

Dear child of God, what have you done with the salvation He has given you?

What have you done with that gift, talent, or opportunity He has given to you?

How are you managing the resources God has richly deposited in your life?

How are you managing your one talent, however small or insignificant it might seem?

Are you a good steward of the gift God has given you?

Are you putting in your best to be fruitful and multiply the graces God has deposited in your life?

Or are you sitting in anger and offense, murmuring and mourning the things you are yet to receive?

We must know that God expects profit from every investment of graces and gifts He has given to us. God expects us to use those gifts to bring glory to His name and turn sinners to repentance.

He expects a heart of gratitude and the character of a good and faithful servant/steward. Only when we present good reports are we qualified to receive more.

So ask yourself:

What is that gift God has given me?

How have I developed it?

What actions have I taken to develop, harness, and bear much fruit with it?

How have my gifts impacted the kingdom positively?

Do I truly appreciate what I have?

Am I content and diligent in my work?

We must take a breather to truly ponder and meditate upon these words.

A songwriter once said, “Count your blessings, name them one by one, and it will surprise you what the Lord has done.”

I’ll end this with a final note.

When you leave the gifts God has deposited into you dormant by not using them, you have sinned against the Giver of that gift and will answer to Him in time.

The unfortunate situation is that many have received good gifts which the Lord lavishly placed in their lives, and as a result of their carelessness, many of those gifts died with them – never finding expression or bringing glory and profit to the kingdom.

Today, God is demanding answers.

What have you done with the gifts and talents He has given you?

For some of us, this is a call to repentance for all the talents we have lost as a result of our carelessness and refusal to place value on them.

God is counting on you to take responsibility and seek Him in truth and in spirit. Only then can we stand a chance of recovering what was lost or receiving beauty for ashes.

Yet to give your life to Christ? Say this prayer and mean it from the depth of your heart:

“Almighty God, I come before You in the name of Jesus. Lord, I confess that I am a sinner and ask for Your mercy.”

“I pray that You cancel my name from the book of death and write my name in the book of life. Give me power to sin no more and grace to live a Christian life.”

“I decree that the yoke of sin is broken over my life and I accept Jesus into my life as Lord and Savior.”

“I am a child of God.”
