Gen 11:15 – The Lord came down because of unity.
United we stand, divided we fall.
The need for unity in the body of Christ, nations, family, and corporations cannot be overemphasized.
The Lord seeks to reveal the importance and power of unity through today’s blog post in order to encourage all to adopt the mindset of unity.
From our text, we study the story of how the people gathered in one mind to build a tower that would reach the heavens.
We see how these people worked together in such unity that the Lord came down to visit them.
That was not all; God goes on to make a very profound statement which we must dissect in today’s message.
The Lord said, behold, the people are in unity, and nothing they have imagined or set out to do will be restrained from them. (Genesis 11:6)
Imagine the power of unity that it forces God out of heaven and moves Him to action.
Our text shows us just how powerful unity is because when the people were in unity, they couldn’t be stopped except by the intervention of God.
We see how God moved in His infinite wisdom and chose to confound their languages in order to stop the project which the men set out to do.
The Lord brought confusion into their midst by giving them different languages so that they wouldn’t be able to do what they had set out to accomplish.
Note: We must understand that God came down to stop the project of Babel because they were working outside His divine will.
Imagine if the people were working with God’s approval – nothing on earth would be able to stop them!
So once we ensure that we are walking in God’s perfect will and vision for our lives, we must not forget to stop the devil from invading our lives, families, and destinies through the power of prayers.
We all know that the devil is never happy to see the child of God achieve their God-given purpose. And in recent times, he has adopted this tool to hinder believers from attaining their full potential in Christ.
The devil is the author of confusion, and he will not rest when he sees the work of God or a child of God moving forward.
Today, the devil has adopted the method of disunity to stop families, churches, organizations, and corporations from achieving their God-given goals and mission.
This is the reason we must not give place to offense, anger, or disunity amongst us. The devil utilizes disunity to disrupt and destroy anything good that a child of God has going.
When we gather in unity of faith and hearts to pray, we are able to move God to action, and the devil knows this. Hence, he comes as a confusionist to disrupt the peace and cut off the vision.
This is the reason it might seem like God does not answer prayers – because when we gather to pray and there is dispute, discord, or offense – especially in families, church, and the body of Christ in general – God is not attracted.
God will not honour a gathering where there is strife, disunity, and offense. He sees the heart, and His eyes are too holy to behold such.
For some of us, we need to go back and settle the disputes we have in the church, family, or corporations in order to make our ways right and truly host the presence of God.
When there is unity, God is attracted.
God is not an author of confusion, and His Spirit dwells in a place of one accord, unity, peace, and progress. (1 Corinthians 14:33)
Cry unto God today and ask Him to restore the peace and unity in your family, church, or organization.
Work towards bridging the gap and follow peace with all men, because without peace, no eye shall see God.
Are you yet to give your life to Christ? Say this prayer and mean it from the depth of your heart:
“Lord Jesus, I ask for Your mercy. I confess I am a sinner. I believe that You died for my sins, and I accept You as Lord and Savior.”
“I pray that You cancel my name from the book of death. Write my name in the book of life. And give me power to sin no more.”
“I declare that the yoke of sin, Satan, and the grave is broken over me. I am a child of God.”
If you said that prayer, congratulations! Heaven rejoices with you.
