“Which of you, by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?” – Matthew 6:22

Text – Matthew 6:25-34

A quick rundown of the passage above gives us God’s perspective on our day-to-day life experiences as Christians and humans.

Throughout the Scripture, we see God’s intentionality and consistency in building the faith of His people.

We see God reprove kings for their sake (Psalm 105:14) and grant them freedom from captivity (Psalm 126:1-6), as it is to this day.

We can safely deduce that by the ministry and help of the Spirit, all of these acts of God and His words were channeled toward a single goal – to banish fear and anxiety in the life of a believer.

As humans, it is in our nature to worry about things, to think about our current situation, be it good or bad, and worry about the next minute or just what the future holds.

Sometimes, in our fear, worry, and anxiety, we limit God and subconsciously begin to plan our days using a hustler’s mindset, hoping to gain the best out of life and, by consequence, taking God and His ability to cater for and shepherd us out of the equation.

Today’s topic is God’s way of telling you, as a believer who is worried about where the next meal, rent, job, or paycheck will come from, to breathe.

God is asking you, can your worrying about that situation, problem, or trouble bring the needed change or desired result?

Instead of bringing the desired result, worry and fear have proven to worsen the case, impoverish your faith, and lead to dangerous medical conditions.

Today, God wants you to read this passage (Matthew 6:25-34) and remind yourself that God is your Father, Source, and Shepherd, which means He is responsible for you in every sense of the word.

In the same way you love, protect, and cater to your offspring, God is willing and ever ready to do the same and more for you if only you can get out of the way, trust Him, and let Him take the glory.

With God as the captain of your ship, rest assured that you cannot get into a shipwreck. Storms may come, winds will blow, but victory is sure.

You might be asking, what does it look like to submit to God and let Him take the wheel?

Instead of approaching every season with dread, anxiety, and worry, approach it with faith. Are you asking how?

Take it to God in prayers!

Pray about that situation and cast all your burdens on Him. Ask for the grace to overcome and watch Him take the glory and bring you to an expected end. (Jeremiah 29:11)

“…to this end, men ought always to pray and not faint.” – Matthew 18:1

Do not be weary in well-doing, for in time you will reap the benefits if you do not faint. (Galatians 6:9)

God might seemingly take some time to come through, but even when it seems like the storms are about to prevail or are prevailing, you must keep praying.

We should take an example from the woman in the Bible who kept asking an unjust judge to avenge her of her adversaries and wouldn’t stop coming until the wicked judge decided to avenge her. (Luke 18:3-8)

God goes on to say that if an unjust judge can do this, can He, the righteous Judge, not avenge His elect that continually seeks Him? Oh ye of little faith! The Bible says that He will avenge speedily. And it further goes on to say, when the Lord shall come, shall He find faith on the earth?

The question is this: Can you weary God? Is there anything too hard for the Lord? Stop and ponder.

This is a clarion call to all Christians. You must abandon the mind that makes you worry like one who has no father.

Even the prodigal son, when he realized that he had a father and resolved to go to him, was restored, and that marked the end of a prince eating among swine.

Are you a prodigal son? Or seeking to begin a new relationship with God today? Say this prayer:

“Lord, I come in the name of Jesus and confess all my sins to You. I repent of every sin I have committed and ask that You have mercy upon me. Cleanse me by Your blood and make me a new creature. I accept You as Lord and personal Savior and obtain grace to walk in Your path moving forward. Amen.”

If you said that prayer and meant it from the depths of your heart, congratulations! The hosts of heaven are rejoicing for your soul. (Luke 15:7)

Living in constant worry and fear is a sign that you are dining with the swine – even as a royal priesthood God has made us to be.

You must obtain grace to depart from that mountain of fear, worry, and anxiety and step into the realm of grace, faith, and sufficiency in God.

Child of God, put away that garment of shame, reproach, and mourning and put on your priestly regalia. You have the power to rule your world! God has made you a god here on earth.

Take that matter to the Lord in prayers!

I pray that the hand of God comes upon you with grace to pray until you obtain the promise and needed results in Jesus’ name. Amen.
