In a world where men are obsessed with the hustle culture, A world of principles and self-acclaimed professionals with something to say about success, there is a God.
A God that rules in the affairs of men. A God who is an ever-loving father with the solution to every life circumstance. A God that demands our faith in him as we journey through life.
Sometimes, we lose sight of our source, provider and creator as we pursue greatness in life and destiny. Even as Christians.
Today, God wants us to refresh our minds and take off the burden that plagues our lives and frustrate our Christian experience.
In the book of Matthew 6:33, God admonishes us to seek him first, his righteousness, and every other thing shall be added unto us.
This means our first calling, duty and responsibility must be to him and his kingdom. Everything else he promises to ‘add’ into our lives.
This means all our needs will be provided, catered for, not hustled or fought for, but added to us as a benefit of seeking him first.
It will be a reward if seeking him diligently. (Hebrews 11:6)
Today’s topic emphasizes looking to Jesus for our every need, daily benefits and even rewards. We must abandon the mindset of being able to do anything for ourselves.
We must return to a state of full dependence on God. A heart posture that says, Lord, everything I have was given to me. Just like the life we live is a literal gift from God who created us.
We must abandon the hustling mindset and the belief that the results we command as children of God are dependent on our hustle.
When you realize that what you have is a gift, you appreciate the giver and rely faithfully on him. Not his gifts, vessels or your ‘abilities’.
Instead, you look up to him concerning all things. Acknowledge his sovereignty, dominion and rulership over your life and place him as a priority. Then you watch him add every other thing into your life.
You look up to him every day because he is the author and finisher of your fate. Remember, eyes have not seen, nor ears heard what God has in store for those who love him.
How do you show your love for God? Sacrifice. What have you sacrificed for the glory of Jesus? What has been thrown down to lift his name high?
What are your priorities? Passions? Meditate on this by the spirit and he will reveal all truths and grant you insights.
May God help us to seek him, look up to him concerning all things and grant us an opportunity to see his goodness made manifest in our lives.
Amen.
