God can never mismanage your life. Read that again and let it sink in.
In the topic of obedience and faith in God, the Devil brings a lot of things to play to hinder our faith and cause a disservice to us by making us second guess God and fail to obey him because we can’t see how it can help us at that moment.
In today’s message, God seeks to let us know that there is great gain in obeying and trusting him, knowing that he is our God who can never mislead us. To fully understand the integrity of God and trust him fully, we need to gain more knowledge and perspective of God.
Our God is the omnipotent, scient and present God. The Bible beautifully describes him as the beginning and the end, the creator of the universe, our Father who dwells in heaven, the king of kings, the lifter of men.
Words fail to describe the lavishness of the personality of God who our Lord Jesus in his wisdom described as the only Good God. (Matt 19:17) The God of Elijah. The living and true God. El Roi.
When we study the multi-faceted and dimensional God we serve, it becomes a sin to doubt his ability to lead us to that expected end he’s promised. God never fails nor disappoints his people, and he expects us to obey his leading to the latter, regardless of how foolish it may seem.
We must understand that when God leads or sends us somewhere, it is for our benefit and even if it might not look and feel like it at the beginning, he is incapable of mismanaging our lives.
The benchmark of this topic seeks to remind us of the personality of God and view everything with the perspective of his personality, ability and thoughts towards us. Remember, the Bible explicitly states that God’s thoughts towards us are of Good and not of evil. To bring to us an expected end. (Jeremiah 29:11)
The message is clear. God wants us to trust him and never doubt whatever he says because he can’t mislead us. When we can’t see how his instructions will lead to our desired haven, we sometimes forsake the counsel of God and go about things with our human understanding, ultimately leading to chaos.
For example, a man God led to empty his savings and give it to a kingdom project. Or when God leads a person to quit their job without a promise or hope for another. It suddenly becomes difficult to trust him because we can’t see how things will work together for our good.
We see how adversely it can affect us, forgetting that God knows the end from the beginning and has no unrighteousness in him. We lose faith in his promise to bring us to an expected end and hesitate to obey his leading, all to our detriment.
The ways of God are past finding out. In exchange for every sacrifice or obedience, there is always a blessing. One you can never have until you get to the other side of your obedience.
The Bible admonishes us to trust the Lord with all our hearts and lean not to our understanding because God knows we are limited in everything. (Proverbs 3:5)
We see in part, know in part and even operate in part. We must always obey the Lord and follow his lead because he knows the way and invented the path.
When you walk with him in obedience you can never exhaust the levels of glory he is willing to give and your path shall be like the ever-increasing light of the just that increases until the perfect day. (Proverbs 4:18)
Remember the children of Rechab who obeyed the Lord and their father and didn’t drink despite what anyone told them, the Lord was so pleased with them that he views they will never lack a man-child.
There is something about total obedience, trust and faith in God that makes him go all out to ensure your life reflects his glory, power and perfection. The Bible describes Abraham as blessed in all things because he trusted and obeyed the voice of God. (Jeremiah 35)
Abraham could have decided to ignore, and disobey God’s word when he asked for Isaac but he was convinced of God’s integrity and demonstrated faith till the very end. He obtained the blessing and became the father of all nations. (Genesis 24:1)
God might be asking you something that seems impossible. Something that might be cruel in the human eyes. But we must believe and trust the one asking, knowing he can never do anything evil and loves us with everlasting love.
The knowledge of God is a key factor which helps us trust him. When we know the personality of God and learn his divine ways, we can zoom out and attempt to see things from his perspective.
Today, God is calling you out of doubt and self-sufficiency to a place of peace and total reliance on him. Will you come to him? Can you place the burdens on his feet forsake human intuition and trust in the Lord? If you are ready, say this prayer with me.
“Lord, I confess I am a sinner. I have carried this burden of life believing I could do it alone. I repent of my unbelief and ask that you come into my heart. Be my lord and saviour, teach me to walk in your path and trust you for the rest of my life in Jesus’ name. Amen.”
