Have you received a word from God? Maybe a command or direction? God expects you to obey and carry out that instruction to the last.

Sometimes, we take God’s mercies, grace and favour for granted by neglecting his commands and directions. We procrastinate doing what he has instructed and in so doing, we shut off his presence from us.

Did you suddenly lose the privilege of hearing God speak? Are you wondering why the Lord seem to have suddenly gone silent? Find out the last time you heard his voice and what he said to you.

Ask yourself – Have I taken action on his last directive?

Ponder this question and find the right answers by the spirit.

Sometimes, God seems to be silent because we have yet to act on the last command. As a result, God cannot trust you with further directives.

When we refuse, hesitate and procrastinate to act on God’s orders, it becomes a hindrance and opposes further dealings with God. As soldiers of Christ, we are expected to carry out every order given by God to the latter.

We are to report at his feet after carrying out the directive before receiving further directives. An example is taken from the one God blessed with talents and gave them directives to be fruitful. (Matthew 25:14-30)

When one servant refused to multiply the one talent he had was taken away and given to the one with more. This means that when we fail to obey God’s command, not only do we stand the risk of losing communication with God, but we also risk having our portion taken and given to another.

God forbids.

This is a sovereign call to every soldier of Christ to obey the Lord, do his will and prosper. To do away with disobedience, procrastination, slothfulness and anything that will make you an untoward soldier.

We should take a leaf from the obedient Rechabites who never disobeyed their late father’s words and kept the final command to the last. In the same manner, the Lord expects us to obey him. (Jeremiah 35:1-19)

The Lord recommended their obedience and blessed them for that singular act. Just like Abraham who obtained the blessings from obeying God’s voice, which was counted to him as faith and righteousness unto the Lord.

We must obey God’s command and reap the blessings attached because there is a blessing with every obedience. Disobedience brings damnation, hindrances and curses. (Deuteronomy 28:14-68)

May God help us to be obedient and follow his commands till the end in Jesus’ Name. Amen. Leave a comment if you were blessed by today’s blog entry. God bless you.
