Are you looking to begin your journey as a christian content creator? Deployed to do exploits in and through the internet? This blog post is aimed at equipping you with the knowledge you need to kickstart your journey.
As we know, the internet remains the best, tested and trusted way of reaching out to people at an easy and fast rate. God in his wisdom has inspired many believers to the effective use of the internet and social media platforms.
God has spearheaded the rise of Christian creators, scattered all over the internet with a mission to win more souls into his kingdom and using the internet as a powerful tool.
Below are some actionable steps you can take to become a Christian content creator.
A] CHECK MATE YOUR HEART:
In order to become a profitable asset to God and his kingdom, you must make sure your heart is in the right position.
Ask Yourself: Why do I want to be a Christian content creator?
Are you looking to open another source of income? Or perhaps hoping to be famous? The primary goal for any Christian creator who wants to do exploits must be to win souls.
That is to say, the fuel to the engine of a Christian creator must be a burden to win souls to the Kingdom of Jesus and depopulate the kingdom of darkness. Every other reason is Idolatry.
If you want to dedicate yourself and become a Christian Creator, you must ensure that your heart is in the right place – To turn people to the knowledge of the truth through God made manifest in your life.
Get that done and you are well on your way to becoming a content creator approved by God – Just like our Lord Jesus who was approved by God before he began his ministry.
Matthew 3:17 – And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
We must seek God’s approval before we kickstart our journey, and Jesus shows us through his life that we must have the heart and mind to do the will of God and place him above all else. He should be the focus.
John 4:34 – Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.
B] BE A CHILD OF GOD:
To have a heart that beats for God, you cannot ignore the need for genuine salvation. This is to say that anyone looking to serve God using content creation must first ascertain that they are in the right standing with God.
You must be sure you are saved, sanctified and truly consecrated to God before you donate your life as a roadmap and bridge for sinners to God.
As the saying goes, you cannot give what you do not have. So before becoming a Christian content creator, you must have accepted Jesus into your heart and let him change you from the inside out. Only then are you qualified to sing his praises to the world.
In this kingdom, Salvation will always come before work. Are you yet to give your life to Christ? Say this prayer and mean it from the depth of your heart.
“Almighty God, I come in the name of Jesus Christ. I confess my sins and acknowledge I am a sinner. I am very sorry for all my shortcomings, and I promise not to return to them. I confess and believe that Jesus died for me on the cross of Calvary and resurrected on the third day for my justification. Lord, cleanse my heart with the blood of Jesus, be my Lord and personal saviour, give me a fresh start and write my name in the book of life. Help me to sin no more in Jesus’ name. Amen.”
Author’s note – If you said this prayer, Congratulations! You are born again. I pray that the Holy Spirit guides and perfects your salvation through Christ our Lord.
C] LOVE GOD AND KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS:
John 21:17 – He saith unto him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep.
John 14:15 – If ye love me, keep my commandments.
The above verses show us that a sure way of showing our love for God is by keeping his commandments.
In this journey to becoming a Christian content creator, being born again is not all there is. You must love God with all your heart and keep his commandments. Not only because you fear him but because you love him.
- How do you nurture a heart that truly loves God?
You must gain knowledge of the God you serve. The biggest barrier to nurturing a heart that truly loves God is the lack of knowledge of him that has called us. When the Bible tells us that the people of God are destroyed for lack of knowledge, it is a broad and vast reality in the lives of many.
You cannot love who you do not know.
To truly tackle this point, we must spend time with God in the place of prayer, in-depth meditation on the word of God, and total yielding to the spirit of God, who will reveal the will of the Father, as well as help us to do them.
1 Corinthians 2:10 – But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.
Remember, the goal is not limited to knowing God. It is aimed at knowing him and being a doer of his will. You can only teach others and replicate good results when you are a doer of the will of God.
D] BE SET APART. DO NOT BE UNEQUALLY YOKED.
The notion of being set apart most times inspires fear and daunt in the heart of a believer. Sometimes because it alludes to cutting off some other aspects of our life (especially sides that are not in alignment with the will and purpose of God) to give God more space, priority, and rule over our every waking moment.
As a child of God who wants to make an impact on the kingdom of God, we must not shy away from setting ourselves apart from the world and all its pleasures. It is a small price to pay in order to gain a solid standing with God, who knows the end from the beginning and sheds light on our path.
To be a Christian Content creator, we need God’s divine guidance, leadership and direction. All of which will not only make your launch into the field easy but also fruitful as time rolls by.
We need to know what topics God wants us to pass on to the world. We need to always be in alignment with him and his spirit and that can only come from a place of intimacy with God.
We must set aside the noise, distraction, lust and even friends. Anything that will put a bump between your smooth communication with God must be cut off during this time of immaculate conception.
You must be ready to spend hours, days, months, and even years alone with God to draw joyfully from the well that he is. Knowing HE is all you NEED.
Note – You must not follow the crowd or trends of the market during your content creation. You must be set apart to receive your mandate from God. Avoid being unequally yoked with unbelievers and guard what you have been given jealously.
E] LEARN THE NEEDED SKILLSET AND APPLY JUDICIOUSLY:
When you have received your mandate, topic or area of content specialisation from God, you must immediately kit yourself with the skills needed to execute your project.
For example, if God has led you to use YouTube as a means of doing his will, then you must do your due diligence, conduct research on the platform, and acquire the needed skills (Video editing, SEO, etc) to launch into the business of God.
Note – You must continually seek to better yourself and ensure to produce quality, value-filled content in the most appealing and to the best of your ability.
What this means is that you must ensure to do your part by putting your best foot forward, and trusting God to crown your efforts in Glory.
Also Note – Christian content is not doomed to be shabby, boring or low quality. Challenge yourself to break the stereotype, make the best of your platform and present God to the world using the best tactic, and presentation that will make your content unforgettable and outstanding.
F] HARD WORK, PATIENCE AND JOY:
Proverbs 14:23 – In all labour there is profit: but the talk of the lips tendeth only to penury.
Proverbs 10:4 – He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent maketh rich.
As you work towards making your content the best, you must not lose the virtue of patience and joy in hard work.
Creating content in general is not an easy feat, especially creating one of significance and importance to our world today. In most cases, it can take a while before the fruits of your obedience and yieldedness to God show up.
In that pocket of time when you are working with no visible result to show for it, know that the Joy of the Lord is your strength. Never lose sight of your Joy THROUGH the process.
Best believe, the Devil will come to minister discouragement, make you impatient and eventually try to hinder your work. You must be ALERT and arm yourself with knowledge that God who has sent you IS with you, and in time you shall reap the blessings. If you faint not.
Galatians 6:9 – And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
Luke 18:8b – Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?
NOTE – As you work hard, do not murmur. Do it with Joy in your heart, as unto God. Show up every day and when God announces himself to the world through you, you will be glad you persevered through the rough times.
G. TRUST GOD –
Hebrews 11:6 – But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
After applying all these steps and creating your Christian content, it takes faith in God to believe that he will surely reward your good works. Even when it seems like you are shadowboxing or wasting time.
When it comes to God, always believe that he is never late. Trust him and believe that in due time, he will take his message to the world, using the fruits of your obedience.
It must surely end in praise!
I pray that a fresh anointing that will produce new vessels of Godly Content Creators rest upon your life this moment and forever in Jesus Name.
